The good news for you

What you should know

Simple bookkeeping for businesses and the self-employed

Do you understand your accounting requirements? With Seewara, we offer a simple, transparent solution for businesses and the self-employed who want to keep track of their finances.

Who counts as a commercial enterprise?
Commercial enterprises include all companies that do not fall under the category of freelancers according to §18 EStG. This includes, for example, all commercial activities that are not exempt from the accounting obligation by law. Typical commercial enterprises are, for example, trading companies, craft businesses or limited liability companies (e.g. GmbH) that are either voluntarily or legally entered in the commercial register.

Limits for simple bookkeeping
Certain limits apply to commercial enterprises that are not required to keep accounts:

  • Turnover limit: 800,000 euros
  • Profit limit: 80,000 euros
If your business does not exceed these limits, you can use the simplified income statement (EÜR) instead of complex double-entry bookkeeping.

Self-employed persons according to Section 18 EStG
Self-employed persons who work in one of the catalogue professions are also affected by special regulations. The catalogue professions include, among others:

  • Artistic activities
  • Scientific activities
  • Teaching and writing activities
  • Educational activities
These professions are mentioned in the exhaustive list of §18 EStG and are considered to be self-employed regardless of the level of income.

Less bureaucracy, more freedom
Whether you are a tradesperson or self-employed – with our simple accounting solution, you can keep track of everything and save yourself unnecessary bureaucracy. Get in touch with us to customise your bookkeeping to your needs!

What do you actually do as a Tax advisor?

A tax advisor is a professional who advises and assists individuals and businesses on tax-related matters. The main tasks and activities of a tax advisor include:

  1. Tax advice: Tax advisors provide advice on various tax issues, including income tax, corporate tax, sales tax and inheritance tax. They help clients understand and optimise their tax obligations.
  2. Tax returns: They prepare and file tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring that all the required information is provided accurately and by the deadline.
  3. Tax planning: Tax advisors develop strategies to minimise their clients’ tax bills by making the most of legal deductions, allowances and credits.
  4. Bookkeeping: Many tax advisors also offer bookkeeping services, which include keeping business records, preparing financial statements and financial reporting.
  5. Auditing tax assessments: They review tax assessments to ensure that they are correct and advise clients on possible appeals or corrections.
  6. Representation before tax authorities: Tax advisors represent their clients during audits by the tax office or other authorities and support them in clarifying tax issues or disputes.
  7. Setting up a company: They advise on the choice of the optimal legal form for companies (e.g. GmbH, AG, sole proprietorship) and provide information on the tax consequences.
  8. Inheritance and gift tax: Tax advisors help with the planning of inheritances and gifts in order to minimise the tax burden for the heirs.
  9. Financial planning: They support clients in their financial planning, including retirement planning, in order to maximise tax advantages.
  10. Training and information: Tax advisors keep up to date with changes in tax law and regulations so that they can provide their clients with the latest advice.

Overall, the work of a tax advisor aims to help their clients meet their tax obligations, take advantage of tax breaks and minimise legal risks.
