What you should know

Simple bookkeeping for businesses and the self-employed

Do you understand your accounting requirements? With Seewara, we offer a simple, transparent solution for businesses and the self-employed who want to keep track of their finances.

Who counts as a commercial enterprise?
Commercial enterprises include all companies that do not fall under the category of freelancers according to §18 EStG. This includes, for example, all commercial activities that are not exempt from the accounting obligation by law. Typical commercial enterprises are, for example, trading companies, craft businesses or limited liability companies (e.g. GmbH) that are either voluntarily or legally entered in the commercial register.

Limits for simple bookkeeping
Certain limits apply to commercial enterprises that are not required to keep accounts:

  • Turnover limit: 800,000 euros
  • Profit limit: 80,000 euros
If your business does not exceed these limits, you can use the simplified income statement (EÜR) instead of complex double-entry bookkeeping.

Self-employed persons according to Section 18 EStG
Self-employed persons who work in one of the catalogue professions are also affected by special regulations. The catalogue professions include, among others:

  • Artistic activities
  • Scientific activities
  • Teaching and writing activities
  • Educational activities
These professions are mentioned in the exhaustive list of §18 EStG and are considered to be self-employed regardless of the level of income.

Less bureaucracy, more freedom
Whether you are a tradesperson or self-employed – with our simple accounting solution, you can keep track of everything and save yourself unnecessary bureaucracy. Get in touch with us to customise your bookkeeping to your needs!

What do you actually do as a Influencer?

An influencer is a person who, through their presence on social media, has a large number of followers and influences them through their content. Influencers use their reach to share opinions on topics, products or services and often also to enter into commercial partnerships with companies. Here are the main tasks and roles of an influencer:

  1. Creating content: Influencers regularly create content on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter or blogs. This content can include videos, photos, texts or livestreams. The content usually revolves around topics such as fashion, beauty, fitness, travel, technology, food or lifestyle.
  2. Building and maintaining a community: A central aspect of being an influencer is interacting with your community. Influencers engage directly with their followers, answering questions, responding to comments and building a personal connection with their audience.
  3. Brand partnerships and advertising: Many influencers work with brands to promote products or services. These partnerships can take various forms, such as sponsored posts, product placements or partnerships in which the influencer uses or presents certain products. In return, influencers often receive financial compensation or free products.
  4. Building trust and authenticity: Influencers are credible for their followers because they are often perceived as authentic voices. Many followers trust the influencers’ recommendations because they are knowledgeable about certain topics or are considered “approachable”.
  5. Product and brand evaluation: Influencers often test products or services and give their opinion on them. Their evaluations can have a significant influence on the purchasing decisions of their followers, as they are perceived as experts in their respective fields.
  6. Storytelling: An important aspect of an influencer’s work is their ability to tell stories. They share personal experiences, opinions or impressions that are intended to entertain, inspire or inform their followers. Good storytelling helps to strengthen the bond with their followers.
  7. Trendsetters and role models: Influencers are often trendsetters and shape the tastes of their followers. They present new fashion trends, products or lifestyles and thus have a direct impact on the preferences and purchasing decisions of their community.
  8. Monetisation: In addition to sponsored content, influencers also earn money through affiliate marketing (where they receive a commission for sales referred), selling their own products or services (such as merchandising, e-books or courses), as well as through advertising revenue, especially on platforms like YouTube.
  9. Strategic growth: Successful influencers often work to grow their reach. This includes analysing follower numbers, monitoring trends and optimising content to get more engagement.
  10. Accountability: Because influencers have such a wide reach, they also carry a certain responsibility for the content they share. Many are careful to advertise ethically and transparently, particularly with regard to labelling sponsored content and advertising.

In summary, influencers use their online presence to create content and build a strong bond with their followers. They are often experts in certain fields and use their reach to influence opinions, set trends and often also to enter into commercial partnerships with brands.
