What you should know

Simple bookkeeping for businesses and the self-employed

Do you understand your accounting requirements? With Seewara, we offer a simple, transparent solution for businesses and the self-employed who want to keep track of their finances.

Who counts as a commercial enterprise?
Commercial enterprises include all companies that do not fall under the category of freelancers according to §18 EStG. This includes, for example, all commercial activities that are not exempt from the accounting obligation by law. Typical commercial enterprises are, for example, trading companies, craft businesses or limited liability companies (e.g. GmbH) that are either voluntarily or legally entered in the commercial register.

Limits for simple bookkeeping
Certain limits apply to commercial enterprises that are not required to keep accounts:

  • Turnover limit: 800,000 euros
  • Profit limit: 80,000 euros
If your business does not exceed these limits, you can use the simplified income statement (EÜR) instead of complex double-entry bookkeeping.

Self-employed persons according to Section 18 EStG
Self-employed persons who work in one of the catalogue professions are also affected by special regulations. The catalogue professions include, among others:

  • Artistic activities
  • Scientific activities
  • Teaching and writing activities
  • Educational activities
These professions are mentioned in the exhaustive list of §18 EStG and are considered to be self-employed regardless of the level of income.

Less bureaucracy, more freedom
Whether you are a tradesperson or self-employed – with our simple accounting solution, you can keep track of everything and save yourself unnecessary bureaucracy. Get in touch with us to customise your bookkeeping to your needs!

What do you actually do as a Educator?

An educator is a professional who works in early childhood education and care. The duties and responsibilities of an educator can vary in different settings, including kindergartens, preschools, after-school centres and other educational institutions. Here are the main duties of an educator:

  1. Design educational programmes: Educators develop and plan educational and play opportunities that are tailored to children’s needs and interests. This includes creative, artistic, motor and language activities.
  2. Individual support: They recognise the individual strengths and weaknesses of the children and support their personal development, social skills and learning processes.
  3. Promoting social interaction: Educators promote social interaction among children by organising group games and joint activities to teach teamwork, empathy and conflict resolution.
  4. Observation and documentation: They observe the children’s development, document progress and prepare development reports to evaluate education and support.
  5. Parent work: Educators work closely with parents, inform them about the development of their children and advise them on educational issues. Parents’ evenings and discussions are part of this task.
  6. Safety and hygiene measures: They are responsible for the safety and well-being of the children, including adherence to hygiene standards and supervision during play.
  7. Integration of children with special needs: Educators support children with special needs and work to promote inclusion to provide equal developmental opportunities for all children.
  8. Teamwork: They work in a team with other educators, specialists and therapists to ensure holistic care and support for the children.
  9. Education and imparting values: Educators impart values, norms and cultural content and promote a respectful and tolerant attitude towards others.
  10. Further training and reflection: They take part in further training and courses to expand their expertise and regularly reflect on their work in order to improve the quality of care and education.

Overall, an educator plays a crucial role in early childhood development by creating a safe and nurturing environment in which children can learn, play and develop social skills.
