What you should know

Simple bookkeeping for businesses and the self-employed

Do you understand your accounting requirements? With Seewara, we offer a simple, transparent solution for businesses and the self-employed who want to keep track of their finances.

Who counts as a commercial enterprise?
Commercial enterprises include all companies that do not fall under the category of freelancers according to §18 EStG. This includes, for example, all commercial activities that are not exempt from the accounting obligation by law. Typical commercial enterprises are, for example, trading companies, craft businesses or limited liability companies (e.g. GmbH) that are either voluntarily or legally entered in the commercial register.

Limits for simple bookkeeping
Certain limits apply to commercial enterprises that are not required to keep accounts:

  • Turnover limit: 800,000 euros
  • Profit limit: 80,000 euros
If your business does not exceed these limits, you can use the simplified income statement (EÜR) instead of complex double-entry bookkeeping.

Self-employed persons according to Section 18 EStG
Self-employed persons who work in one of the catalogue professions are also affected by special regulations. The catalogue professions include, among others:

  • Artistic activities
  • Scientific activities
  • Teaching and writing activities
  • Educational activities
These professions are mentioned in the exhaustive list of §18 EStG and are considered to be self-employed regardless of the level of income.

Less bureaucracy, more freedom
Whether you are a tradesperson or self-employed – with our simple accounting solution, you can keep track of everything and save yourself unnecessary bureaucracy. Get in touch with us to customise your bookkeeping to your needs!

What do you actually do as a Creative?

The term ‘creative’ is quite general and can refer to various professions and activities associated with creative processes. Creatives work in many fields, including art, design, advertising, media, writing and many others. Here are some of the main tasks and activities that characterise a creative:

Main tasks of a creative

  1. Idea development: Creatives generate new ideas and concepts for projects, products or campaigns. This may involve brainstorming, sketching or other creative techniques.
  2. Design: In many cases, creatives are responsible for the visual design of products, marketing materials or artwork. They use various software tools and techniques to realise their designs.
  3. Content production: Creatives write copy, create videos or produce other content to communicate messages. This can range from advertising copy to creative stories or blog posts.
  4. Prototyping: In design processes, creatives often create prototypes or drafts to make their ideas tangible and test them before they go into final production.
  5. Collaboration: Creatives often work in teams with other professionals, such as marketers, developers or artists, to realise their ideas and incorporate different perspectives.
  6. Feedback and adaptation: Creatives gather feedback on their ideas and work and adapt them accordingly to improve quality and effectiveness.
  7. Presentation of ideas: They present their concepts and designs to clients or other stakeholders to communicate their vision and gain support.
  8. Market research: Creatives often conduct research to identify trends and better understand the needs of the target audience. This helps them to create more relevant and engaging content.
  9. Project management: They may also be responsible for the planning and organisation of creative projects, including time management, budgeting and resource management.
  10. Continuing education: Creative professionals keep up to date with new trends, technologies and techniques in their field and participate in continuing education to expand their skills.

Conclusion

Creatives play a crucial role in developing and realising ideas that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Their work influences many areas of daily life, from advertising and design to art and media. Through their innovation and creativity, they contribute to shaping the cultural and visual landscape and help to develop products and services that meet people’s needs and desires.
